The Purdue Boilermakers and Nebraska Cornhuskers are playing live on the Big Ten college football schedule on Saturday and the teams start up at 3:30 pm ET and are on ABC and ESPN2 and the matchup is from Memorial Stadium in Lincoln as Heisman candidate Ameer Abdullah tries to keep his strong season going and the Huskers are ranked 15th in the nation.
The Huskers come into the game after a huge win over Rutgers and they next will play against Wisconsin and they are coming in after Abdullah put up over 200 yards in the game. Abdullah has been amazing this season and he is one of the main reasons why the team is in position in the Big Ten and he is a sleeper Heisman pick this year with the way he has performed. The team has been averaging over 290 rushing yards per game to rank seventh in the nation and Abdullah had 225 yards last week in the win over Rutgers.
This season Abdullah has over 1200 yards rushing already and 17 touchdowns and he will be the main focus for the team going forward the rest of the way. The team is ranked seventh in rushing yards per game and 12th in points per game and they are also number 22 in the nation in defense and they have the chance to make an impact in the conference and overall. The conference is weak, but if the Huskers win out and finish strong they could make the playoffs.
The team comes in having won two games in a row since their loss to Michigan State and that is the lone loss for the team this season. The Spartans were ranked number 10 and they look like the best team in the conference and the team comes in looking at Purdue and then against Wisconsin and Minnesota before ending the season against Iowa.
Bo Pelini has his team playing very well and they started the season 5-0 and they have one loss in the conference this season. The team won over Fresno State and Miami after starting 2-0 and now they have the chance to put some emphasis on the end of the season and Abdullah is the main key to keeping it going. The quarterback has been doing his job and Armstrong has been able to keep the team in games enough and Abdullah has been doing his thing and likely will do it again on Saturday.
