14 people were killed in Friday's "The Dark Knight" premiere in Aurora, Colorado. Authorities have also reported 38 injuries after a shooting that took place in the 16th Century movie theaters.

Miami Heat star, LeBron James, did not hesitate to show his grief and send his condolences to the people involved in the shooting. On his Twitter account it was posted, "@KingJames Its just not fair that innocent people have to lose their lives over someone's selfish stupidity acts! My stomach is hurting over this"

Morgan Freeman, who plays Lucius Fox in the film, also shared his thoughts with those victims, "Sometimes this world can truly be a horrifying place. They just wanted to see a damn movie. #TheaterShooting

The killer was a 24-year-old male named James Holmes.

A wItnessed said he tossed two cannisters of gas and then calmly unleashed fire on the crowd. A man with a Joker shirt was immediately shot on the head. His body slumped back on the chair and his face was immediately covered with blood, said a witness who did not want to give its name.

The shooting also occurred a few miles away from Denver and not too far from Columbine, where 13 high school students were shot by classmates in 1999.

Theaters across the country are now buffing up their security detail hoping to prevent any repeated attacks as "The Dark Knight" is one of the most anticipated films of the summer.
