The Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers are playing live on the NBA schedule on Monday night and the game is live at 7 pm ET on CSN Houston as Dwight Howard and James Harden try and stay undefeated at the Wells Fargo Center, while the Sixers try and get their first win of the season in Philly.
The Rockets come into the game after a win against the Boston Celtics at home and now they have the Sixers before a matchup against the Miami Heat. The Rockets were one of the best offensive teams in the NBA last season and now they are ranked seventh through three games and they are averaging 105 points per game this year. The defense has held tight through three games and that has been one of the biggest issues for the Rockets in recent years.
James Harden led the way with 26 points against the Celtics and he has been getting it done in the assist game as well, leading the team with six in that matchup. Dwight Howard had 22 points in the last win before that against the Jazz, while Harden added 18 points. The team opened with a win against the Lakers and all of that was overshadowed by the Howard and Kobe Bryant scuffle and that surely will come up the next time the two teams play.
The Rockets are currently tied for first in the Southwest division with the Grizzlies in first place and both teams are 3-0 on the season. The Rockets have a tough schedule coming up and they will play against Miami on the road after the matchup with the Sixers and then they have two playoff teams in the Spurs and the Warriors at home. The team then plays the Sixers again but this time at home and then two on the road with Oklahoma City and then against Memphis. The Lakers and the Mavericks arte also on the schedule this month and so is the Knicks.
The Sixers lost to the Pacers last week after 22 points from Roy Hibbert and they come into this game after a loss against the Miami Heat. The team has a 0-3 record this season and they will next play against the Orlando Magic. The Sixers are considered to be the worst team in the league and this should be an easy win for the Rockets.
The Rockets want to be one of the highest scoring teams in the league and they have done just that to start the season. The Sixers are bereft of scorers and they have Tony Wroten leading the way and he comes in after putting up 21 points and 10 assists in the last game for the Sixers. The Rockets are the favorites here and would be one of the best in the NBA at 4-0.
