NHL Trade Rumors 2012: Rick Nash to the Boston Bruins Not Likely

Jul 20, 2012 03:11 PM EDT

Everybody is dying for the Boston Bruins to make moves this offseason. They went through an embarrassing playoff performance after getting bounced in the first round by the Washington Capitals.

Despite their need for change, they are not desperate and therefore will not heed to any of the Columbus Blue Jackets' high demands for Rick Nash, according to CenterIcechat.com

Talks have circulated of the Bruins trying to get rid of David Krejci, but they will not consider trading him in a package for Rick Nash.

Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli feels that the Bruins have three players good enough to lead the team in the future. A three-headed monster of Krejci, Milan Lucic and Tyler Seguin, Chiarelli agrees, possess enough talent to help the win. Throw in top prospect Dougie Hamilton, and the sky could be the limit.

Last season Krejci scored 23 goals and had 39 assists, Lucic had 26 goals and 35 assists. Seguin had 29 goals and 38 assists.

Nash stands as the best player on the trading block.

Last season he racked up 30 goals and had 29 assists. He was the first overall draft pick back in 2002. Since his 40-goal season in 2008-2009, Nash has struggled to reach the 40-goal plateau and has scored 33, 32 and now 30 goals in the last three seasons.
