Patriots Rumors: Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman Success Forces Danny Amendola, Aaron Dobson Release? Brandon LaFell, Tim Wright Fantasy Picks for Tom Brady

No one is questioning the offense of the New England Patriots now that they have steamrolled teams several weeks in a row. The slow start to the season seems like ages ago as Tom Brady and company are thriving through 10 weeks of the season. Coming off a big win against the Denver Broncos, Brady believes the team's offense is better than ever. However, there are a few pieces of dead weight that are having their futures put into question.

It has become very clear that Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman are the leading offensive performers for the Patriots and the new safety blankets for Brady. It is clear that Gronkowski is healthy after two years of injuries and Brady is thrilled his tight end is thriving at this point in the season.

"Imagine trying to cover that," Brady said, via ESPN.com. "We did a lot of work in training camp. Darrelle (Revis) was covering him, and Gronk was trying to do some rehabilitation stuff like that. You know he just gets great body position. He's such a big guy, it's hard to go through him."

Edelman is also proving difficult to cover. The wide receiver is certainly repaying the Patriots for the contract extension. The wide receiver currently ranks second on the team with 556 yards and two scores on the season. Pairing the two with Brandon LaFell and tight end Tim Wright and the Patriots offense is thriving. So what happens to players like Danny Amendola and Aaron Dobson who are failing to meet expectations?

Amendola has shown up for exactly one game this season. The receiver has one touchdown on the season that came during the game against the New York Jets. It was a game-winning score that earned him praise from the coaching staff, but is it enough to secure his future? The Boston Globe has speculated in the past that the Patriots are waiting for the right time to move on from Amendola and this offseason might be it. With players like Larry Fitzgerald becoming available, Amendola could be on the outside looking in for New England.

There are also question marks surrounding Dobson who looked like a real threat entering the season following a successful rookie campaign. The receiver continues to be in and out of the lineup as some speculate he and the coaching staff are not on the same page right now. Could the second-year pro be on his way out as well? Dobson at least has trade value, something Amendola might not have.
