The matchup between the Washington Huskies and the UCLA Bruins will feature a dynamic rusher and top linebacker going head-to-head in a Pac 12 game. The Bruins are aiming to maintain their hold on the Pac 12. While the Playoff are out of the question, they can still make a run in the conference. The Huskies sit at 6-3 on the season and hope that their running back Shaq Thompson can handle some heavy lifting.
Thompson will face off against linebacker Myles Jack who is one of the best in the country. These two players have been playing alongside one another for many years as both players are versatile enough to play on both sides of the ball. With a similar size and build, both Thompson and Jack have been responsible for big plays and game-winning touchdowns, something they aim to repeat again on Saturday.
The Bruins are still alive in the Pac 12 even if they are not making the College Football Playoffs. The team knocked off Arizona, but they still need Arizona State to lose if they are going to win the south. Stopping Thompson will be a task after he had 215 yards against Colorado. To make his value even higher, he has four defensive touchdowns in six games. He did have less than 100 yards against Arizona State, but he is averaging 7.9 yards per game.
Jack has not seen as much action in the backfield as last year. The linebacker burst onto the seen as a freshman last year, but Paul Perkins has developed into a strong option in the backfield with 1.074 yards and six touchdowns through the season. He has taken plenty of weight off Brett Hundley this season who has 15 touchdowns and four interceptions on the season. The Bruins must beat Washington to stay alive, but the Huskies believe they are underrated and will have the home crowd in their favor.
