NBA Rumors 2012: Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Hornets and Phoenix Suns Discuss Three-Team Trade, Kirilenko Possibly Involved

In latest news around the NBA a new multi-team deal has emerged that could shape Andrei Kirilenko's return to the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In the deal, the Phoenix Suns would send Robin Lopez and Hakim Warrick to New Orleans, and the Suns would get Wesley Johnson and a future first-round pick from Minnesota. The Hornets would trade center Brad Miller to the Suns.

It's unclear what Minnesota would get from the deal but it's speculated that the moves will be made in order to clear cap space for Andrei Kirilenko.

Both New Orleans and Phoenix discussed a similar four-team trade last week, with Boston and Houston replacing Minnesota, but the Suns pulled out as the deal fell apart. That's when Minnesota entered the picture.

It will be interesting if the deal works out and the expected moves are made. New Orleans will have two big bodies in Anthony Davis and Robin Lopez that would without a doubt would improve defensive production, may even work out well offensively as well.

If the Timberwolves land Kirilenko, All-Star Kevin Love will have more help on the boards as well in scoring efficiency, being that Kirilenko has always been very productive both offensively and defensively.

Earlier this week there was reports that the Brooklyn Nets were pushing hard to bring Kirilenko back to the NBA, despite their own limited salary-cap flexibility. Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov and Team USA guard, Kirilenko's former Utah Jazz teammate, were part of the effort to recruit Kirilenko.

Sport Express in Russia on Tuesday quoted Kirilenko saying: "I want to decide my new team before the Olympics. There are several options in the NBA, but the final choice has not been made yet."

Kirilenko also told Ria Novosti, another media outlet: "Which club in particular, we'll know in a day or two."
