The Penguins have been very consistent to start the season and that is why they are in first place. The team did lose the home and home with the Islanders and that was tough, but NY is playing very well this season and they could be one of the sleeper surprise teams in the east. The Penguins may be looking for a trade with one of their top players out and they are coming in after an earlier shutout of the Canadiens and that game saw Crosby score his eighth goal of the season. The Bruins come into the game after a loss against the Canadiens and that was another tough defeat for the team and now they will try and bounce back.

Many have picked the Bruins in the east and they have a tough matchup here and they will next play the Jets on the schedule. Patrice Bergeron is leading the team in scoring and they have played well overall this month, losing just three times overall. The team had won three straight before the Montreal game and now they have the Pens and the Jets to end the month.
