The Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins are matching up on the NHL Wednesday night schedule and the game from the CONSOL Energy Center starts up at 7:30 pm ET as two east teams matchup and the Pens come in playing very well and Sidney Crosby leads the way for the first place club against their Canadian rivals.

The Penguins come into the game after a win against the Boston Bruins in overtime and they will next play against the Carolina Hurricanes on the schedule. The Penguins are leading the Metro division and they have 30 points on the season and have one of the best records at 14-4-2 and they have been very strong once again. Last season the team lost to the Rangers in the playoffs after NY came back from a 3-1 deficit and now they are looking to bounce back.

The team gave up a major lead against the Rangers and that was historic and now the Pens feel that they are on a mission. The team is ranked first in the league in goals scored and they are also the top team in power play percentage. The team is in the top five in penalty kill percentage and they are sixth in goals against this season. Marc-Andre Fleury has been playing very well and his contract looks like a smart move and he set a career milestone with his last win.

Evgeni Malkin scored the winner in overtime for the Penguins against the Bruins and he now is leading the team in scoring. Crosby is tops in points and assists this season and he has also been playing very well overall.
