The TCU Horned Frogs and Texas Longhorns are playing on Thanksgiving Day in a Big 12 college football conference game from Royal Texas Memorial Stadium and the matchup is on Fox Sports 1 past 7:30 pm ET and it will be streaming online from the Fox Sports Go website as Texas Christian tries to push into the playoffs after coming in as the number five team in the nation.
TCU comes in after a win against Kansas and that was a close victory and now they play against Texas before a matchup with Iowa State. The team comes in ranked eighth in the nation in passing yards per game and second in scoring and the defense has been holding up in some games, but not in recent weeks. Trevone Boykin leads the team with 3000 yards and 24 touchdowns and his leading receiver has 43 catches for 693 yards and seven TDs on the season.
TCU has won five straight since losing to Baylor and they are just outside the playoff right now and over this stretch they have won over three ranked teams. TCU won over Oklahoma State and West Virginia before beating Kansas State when they were ranked number seven. Depending on how you look at things, TCU has the advantage or disadvantage of not having a championship game in the Big 12 and they will finish off against Texas and Iowa State on the schedule.
Tyrone Swoopes leads Texas into this game and the team comes in after a win against Oklahoma State and they are 6-5 this season and 5-3 in the conference. TCU has a 6-1 record in the conference and this is the final matchup of the season for Texas and they are riding a three game winning streak. The team is looking to finish the season strong for Charlie Strong and they are now 6-5 this year after opening 1-2. The team had a stretch of four losses in five games early in the season and they were 2-4 and have rebounded since.
Texas comes into the game ranked 24th in the nation in points allowed this season and Swoopes has 2152 yards and 12 TDs in the passing game this year. Texas has won four of the last five games and this would be a huge upset for the final matchup of the season. Over the last three games TCU has given up 30 points twice and just four games ago they scored over 80 points in a wild performance against Texas Tech.
