Japan and Sweden were in a close match on Saturday morning in the 2012 London Olympics. The Women's Soccer team finished their match in a 0-0 draw.

Japan had eight shots on goal and Sweden had five. Both teams took 14 shots each.

Sweden proved the move physical team as they committed six fouls compared to Japan's single foul.

Despite the Swedish aggressive play, it was Japan who controlled the ball for most of the match. Tough the ball 58% of the time.

In the two minutes left in the match, Sweden came close to capturing the victory with last minute attacks at Japan's goal. Marie Hammarstrom kicked a ball that was saved by Japan's goalkeeper, Miho Fukumoto.

Antonia Goransson took a shot at the goal with a minute left in competition, but missed the target.

Both Sweden and Japan will remain in first place in their division even though they tied. Both Canada and South Africa lost in their first game, thus sitting in last place in the Group F pool of Women's soccer.

Whoever wins between Canada and South Africa will claim the third place spot and remains alive in competition. The loser will play for pride and attempt to prevent either Sweden or Japan from entering into the quarterfinals.
