The Miami Heat and NY Knicks are playing on the NBA schedule on Sunday and the matchup from MSG in New York starts at 7:30 pm ET and has Carmelo Anthony up against Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Luol Deng as the new big 3 and this comes as the Knicks have struggled to start the season.
The Knicks started the season 3-13 last year and they have now opened with just four wins this season and they are coming in after a bad loss to the OKC Thunder. The Knicks were down by 37 points in that game and now they have the Heat coming in before a matchup with the Brooklyn Nets at MSG. The Knicks have a five year plan, but they did not expect things to start off this slow and now Anthony returns after being out with back spasms.
Anthony sat out against the Mavericks and the OKC Thunder with is back and now he is returning and he comes back as the leading scorer for the Knicks this season. Amar'e Stoudemire led the team with 20 points and nine rebounds against the Thunder and he needs to stay healthy and productive for the Knicks to have any chance of making the playoffs.
The Knicks have played a number of close games this season and they have lost some at the buzzer and that has given Derek Fisher confidence that his team can stick with most opponents, but he wants them to be better. The Heat come into the game after a loss against the Golden State Warriors and they will next play on the road against the Washington Wizards on Monday after this matchup.
Miami has been playing well despite losing LeBron James and they are still trying to find their new identity without the King. The team is ranked 10th in defense and they come in after Chris Bosh led the team with 26 points and nine rebounds against the Warriors.
