Leicester City and Liverpool are playing on the English Premier League schedule on Tuesday and the matchup is from King Power Stadium and will be streaming online from the NBCSN Live Extra website starting at 2:45 pm ET as the EPL December slate picks up.
Liverpool has been very up and down this season and this is a good chance to turn things around for Brendan Rodgers and company. The December and holiday schedule always has a number of games and with some tough opponents coming, this could be the season for the Reds. Last year they were the highest scoring team in the league and now they are coming from a minus two goal differential heading into the week.
Liverpool comes in after a win against Stoke City at Anfield, but before that the team lost badly to Crystal Palace on the road and 2-1 to Chelsea at home. Liverpool comes in with Manchester United coming up and they also have a matchup with Liverpool. That game against Man United will be at Old Trafford and then the team hosts Arsenal coming up after that and that will be at Anfield.
Liverpool has a chance to move up in the standings and they need to take it now, as they are 11th and have to start moving up for any chance at a solid season. The team has not looked good in the Champions League and the fact that they finished second in the EPL last year looks more like a fluke than anything else. The team had great seasons from Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard, Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge and now they need those type of players to step up this season.
Liverpool comes into the matchup at 11th on the Premier League table standings and they have been very inconsistent compared to how they played last year. The team is way behind Chelsea and they have clearly missed the presence of Luis Suarez, while Mario Balotelli has yet to turn it on since coming over. The team has some tough matches after the holiday season as well, as they play against Everton and Tottenham back to back and they also have matchups with Swansea City and West Ham coming up.
Chelsea is separating themselves at the top of the league standings and they have been the best scoring team in the league as well. Liverpool has been up and down and they have now scored two fewer goals than they have allowed and they have had a hard time keeping clean sheets this season as well and that has been a big issue.
