The Czech Republic and Turkey get ready to face in on Group A preliminaries on Monday morning. Turkey is fresh off a win against Angola, while the Czech suffered a loss to the Chinese on Saturday.
Turkey, along with the USA and China are sitting on top of the Group A pool with 1-0 records. The Czechs, Angola and Croatia are all in the bottom spots in the standings as they all lost on Saturday.
Eva Vitckova led the way for the Czech Republic on Saturday with 14 points. She went 3-10 from the floor but two of those made shots were three-pointers.
Kateruba Elhotova chipped in with 13 points and had a better shooting night after making five out of nine field goals. Three Czech players, including Elhotova were tied for the team high three assists.
Turkey blew out Angola 72-50 on Friday. They distributed the ball as they had four players in double figures in points scored. Emine Tugba Palazoglu had 13 points with 4 assists.
As a unit, Turkey had 23 assists. They shot 50 percent from three going 8/16 and shot 43 percent from the floor. They had 10 steals and won the rebounding battle as they totaled 43 boards in the game against Angola.
