Dec 03, 2014 07:21 PM EST

The San Antonio Spurs and Brooklyn Nets will play live on the NBA schedule on Wednesday night and the matchup from the Barclays Center in BK starts up at 7:30 pm ET and has Tim Duncan and the champs matching up with Kevin Garnett and Deron Williams in NYC and the matchup comes as the Nets are struggling to start the season.

The Spurs come in at 13-4 and they are second in the southwest division and they have been getting some strong play from Kawhi Leonard along with their veterans. The trade for Leonard a few years ago looks genius now and he comes in after scoring 26 points and adding 10 rebounds in the win over the Sixers. The game was closer than expected, with the Spurs winning by six and they will have a huge matchup coming up against the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies have been one of the best teams in the NBA this season and they are leading the division and that makes that a top matchup for SA. The Spurs come in playing well and they are scoring 100 points per game and are ranked third in the league in points allowed this season. The team is ranked in the top 10 in rebounds per game and assists per game and they are looking as strong as they have in the past.

The team comes in as defending champions and they are shaping up to be one of the best in the west once again. The Nets have been a disappointment, but the team is coming in after a win against the Knicks in a rivalry game and now they have the Spurs before playing against the Hawks at home. The team comes in averaging 98 points per game and they are ranked 17th in defense. The team got 23 points from Robin Lopez and Garnett had 13 rebounds to lead the team against the Knicks in the win.

The Lakers come in after a rare win and they now have five wins on the season and they will next play against the Celtics after the matchup with the Wizards. The team is ranked in the top 10 in scoring and is averaging 104 points per game, but they are ranked second to last in the league in points allowed per game, ranking 29th with 111 allowed per matchup. Bryant is leading the team in scoring and he added a triple double against the Raptors in an overtime win for the Lakers a couple days ago.
