The Miami Heat and the Memphis Grizzlies are playing live on the NBA schedule on Sunday and the matchup from the FedEx Forum starts up at 6 pm ET and comes with the Grizz as one of the best teams in the league this season as Marc Gasol, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh matchup.
The Heat come into the game after a loss against the Bucks on the road and now the team is 9-10 on the season and they have the Grizz and the Suns on the road next on the schedule. The team comes in third in the southeast division this season and they have nine wins on the season to start off and they are still getting used to the new lineup without LeBron James. Wade scored 28 points to lead the team against the Bucks and he also added eight assists.
Wade has been playing well with James out of the mix and he is now the top scoring option for Miami, while Luol Deng has give the team some strong play. The team ranked ninth in points allowed this season and they are averaging 95 points per game, which is down from last year and they need to get things going. The team could end up as one of the best in the east this season, but they have been off to an up and down start and they have to worry about the Wizards this season as well.
The Grizzlies come into the game as one of the best teams in the NBA, as they are 15-4 this season and they are second in the southwest division. The Grizzlies have been getting some great play from Gasol and he is averaging a career high in points and the team comes in ranked first in scoring defense. Gasol and the Grizzlies last lost to the Spurs and they will next play against the Dallas Mavericks on the schedule.
Gasol dropped 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Mike Conley had 10 assists in the game and now both of these teams will be looking for a win. The season is still young, but it's December already and the standings are starting to shape in the west and the east. Miami is right in the mix, but they need to get better, while the Grizzlies could be the surprise pick in the west.
