The LA Galaxy won the MLS Cup over the New England Revolution on Sunday in Extra Time by the score of 2-1 to take the Major League Soccer championship for 2014 and this is now the fifth title for Los Angeles, setting a new record for the league.

Robbie Keane had the game winning goal in extra time for the Galaxy, while Gyasi Zardes had the other goal before Chris Tierney tied the game in the 79th minute. Landon Donovan finished his final professional season with a championship and now the Galaxy will be heading into the CONCACAF tournament along with the Seattle Sounders, who won the Supporters Shield and US Open Cup. The Galaxy were aggressive throughout the match and had some opportunities early on.

Landon Donovan had chances in the game and there were some calls that went by the referees, but overall it was a well played championship. New England was strong up front and bounced back after the Galaxy scored, but they couldn't muster up anything in the second half.
