When it comes to sports awarding medals on Tuesday in London, the women's gymnastics final is probably the most high-profile event of the day.

Defending world champ Jordyn Wieber, of Team USA, failed to qualify for the all-around competition at the London Olympics, but her teammates will depending on her to regain her confidence if they're going to win their first team gold medal since the "Magnificent Seven" of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

"We're going to have to cheer her up and hype her up," teammate Gabby Douglas said.

Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross and Jordyn Wieber will compete for the U.S. in the gymnastics team final, leading the competition heading in with a score of 181.863 followed by Russia (180.429), China (176.637) and Romania close behind at 176.264.

Team USA women's competition lineup:

  • Vault: Wieber, Douglas, Maroney
  • Uneven bars: Wieber, Ross, Douglas
  • Balance beam: Ross, Douglas, Raisman
  • Floor exercise: Douglas, Wieber, Raisman

Great Britain, Japan, Italy and Canada round out the eight teams who advanced to the final at North Greenwich Arena.
