The LA Clippers and Indiana Pacers are playing live on the NBA schedule on Wednesday and the game from Bankers Life Fieldhouse starts at 7 pm ET and has Los Angeles travelling east as Chris Paul and Blake Griffin matchup with Roy Hibbert on the basketball calendar.
The game is one of the early matchups on the night and has the Clippers coming in after a home win against the Phoenix Suns in overtime. The team will continue the east swing after the Pacers with the Washington Wizards and they are currently second in the pacific division. The team is behind the Golden State Warriors and has a 15-5 record and they are one of the favorites in the west and are one of the best teams in the conference.
The Clippers come into the game ranked third in the league in scoring on offense and they are allowing just under 100 points per game on defense. The team is fifth in assists per game but just 28th in rebounding and that is one area they will be looking to shore up down the line. The Clippers are second in the division standings and now they take on the Pacers, who are just 7-14 this season after making it to the east finals last year. Losing Paul George changed things for the team and now they host the Clippers at seven games under.
The Clippers come in after getting a wild win against the Suns and that saw the Big 3 of the Clips take over, as Blake Griffin led the way with 45 points, DeAndre Jordan had 14 rebounds and Chris Paul had 10 assists. Griffin is leading the team in scoring, while Jordan is tops in rebounding and they now are looking for a ninth straight win on the schedule when they take on the Pacers. Indy comes in scuffling and they have lost five straight games and this could make is six in a row.
LA was just 5-4 when they headed out on a long road trip, but they returned with a better record and some impressive play and now they are looking to continue that. The Pacers come into things at fourth in the central division and they last lost to the Atlanta Hawks and now will play the Clippers ahead of a matchup with the Toronto Raptors. The Pacers have not been very good this season compared to last year and they are averaging just 93 points per game.
The Pacers are ranked 28th in scoring this season and while they are seventh in defense, that has not translated into consistent play. The team comes in after a bad loss to the Hawks and now they are hoping to try and turn things around. The Clippers are playing at a high level and this matchup looks like it will be all LA.
