Dec 10, 2014 06:52 PM EST

The Kentucky Wildcats and Columbia are playing live on the NCAA basketball schedule on Wednesday and the matchup comes from Rupp Arena as the number one team gets into action undefeated and the matchup is on TV from ESPN on the ESPN2 channel and is streaming online from the WatchESPN website.

Kentucky comes into the game with an undefeated record and everyone agrees they are the number one team in the nation. The Wildcats have not lost at home in eight tries and while this game is an overmatched matchup for Columbia, Kentucky will not come into things lightly. John Calipari has his team prepared and he has said that he will not treat this team any differently than others on the schedule and that is one reason why this team can make a run to the championship.

Kentucky comes in after a win against East Kentucky and they next have a huge matchup with North Carolina coming up. The team plays against UNC on Saturday and that is a top 25 matchup and has two of the biggest schools in basketball matching up and that will be an anticipated game in the early part of the schedule. The team comes in averaging 77 points per game and they are ranked 12th in rebounds per game and they are ranked in the top 20 in assists per game.

The team has some big games coming up with UCLA, UNC and Louisville and those will be the biggest games for the team ahead of the SEC schedule. The team has matchups down the line with Florida and Georgia and they are clearly the favorites in the conference this season. Kentucky is undefeated and they have the chance to stay that way if they make it through this little run with the Tar Heels, Bruins and Cardinals coming up.

Kentucky has not really faced any top competition yet that has been able to hang with them and now they are matching up with Columbia at home. This game should be an easy one for the team and while the Wildcats have won by an average of 30 points this season, Columbia knows this will be a chance to get a major upset. The Wildcats come in with big matchups looming and John Calipari said his team will not look ahead to those games no matter who they are playing.

The Lions come into the game averaging less than 60 points per game and that will likely not cut it against the Wildcats. Last season the team averaged 68 points and this year the defense has been solid, keeping teams at 50 points per game. That will not happen on Wednesday night and the Lions are hoping they can at least keep the Wildcats at bay.
