Andy Murray has not skipped a beat from his Wimbledon perfomance where he finished as the runner-up of the event. On Wednesday he gets ready to face Cyprus' Marcos Baghdatis in the third round of the Men's Singles in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Murray comes into London ranked 3rd in Men's Singles behind Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
Both players have moved on to the quarterfinals after defeating their opponents later in the morning.
In his first two matches in London, Murray defeated Federer's Men's Doubles partner, Stanislas Wawrinka in the first round 6-3, 6-3. He followed that performance with a victory over Jarkko Niemenin, also in two straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
Being that Murray turned pro in 2005, he has only participated in the 2008 Olympics.
He has already surpassed his 2008 Olympic performance from Beijing. In that year, Murray was bounced in the first round by Lu Yen-Hsun 6-7, 4-6.
The most disappointing part of the 2008 loss was the expectations Murray had to fulfill. He was a 21-year-old ranked 6th in the world. Ultimately, the pressure amounted and the Scottish player found himself out of the tournament early in the competition.
