The Women's Individual All-Around competition gets underway Thursday at 11:30 a.m. ET from the North Greenwich Arena.
Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman, two members of the 'Fab Five' that took gold for the U.S. the other night, will participate in the competition.
Douglas, nicknamed "the flying squirrel" for her remarkable release moves, was the U.S.'s most versatile gymnast and enters the finals as one of the clear favorites to take home a medal.
Raisman, the U.S. team captain and surprise qualifier for the individual all-around competition, will rely on her exceptional floor routine to help her medal in the individual competition.
Many expected Jordyn Wieber to participate, but her scores in the preliminaries weren't high enough to qualify, leaving her out of the all-around competition.
Based on the performances of the last three days, the individual all-around competition will likely be a battle between American and Russian gymnast, as it was during the team competition.
On Tuesday, after a stunning performance the United States took home their first Olympic team gold since 1996.
On the vault Wieber earned a 15.933 and teammate Douglas followed with 15.966.
McKayla Maroney, the 16-year-old defending world vault champion, attempted the most difficult vault of the competition. Despite having a broken toe, she scored a 16.233 after sticking a perfect landing.
From that point the U.S. continued their dominance through to the end of the competition.
Russia took silver with 178.530 and Romania took bronze with 176.414 points.
