The Nebraska Cornhuskers and USC Trojans are playing live on the college football bowl schedule on Saturday and the National University Holiday Bowl is from Qualcomm Stadium at 8 pm ET and the TV coverage is from ESPN and will be on the WatchESPN website streaming online as these two big name schools matchup.
The Trojans come into the game after a huge win against Notre Dame and now they have Nebraska in another classic matchup. The Trojans are ranked at number 24 in the nation coming into this game and they are 8-4 overall on the season. Cody Kessler comes in after passing for 372 yards against the Irish and he has played well this season, leading the team with 3500 passing yards in 2014 and over 35 touchdowns.
The Trojans are ranked 27th in the nation in scoring with 35 points per game and the defense has been strong as well. The team is ranked 35th in the nation in points allowed per game and they are 15th in passing yards per game with nearly 300 per contest. The team has won three of the last four games, losing to UCLA and they won over Washington State along with Cal and Notre Dame. The team has impressive wins over Stanford and Arizona and now they matchup with Nebraska.
The Huskers are ranked 25th and the team fired Bo Pelini and now the team has to go on without him after the team finished with a win against Iowa. Players like quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. have said they thought the move was a mistake and now they have Mike Riley in despite some success from Pelini, although the team did not win a conference title. Pelini only lost 27 games over his time and won 67 and now he is out for Riley, who was closer to .500 at Oregon State, but he will not take over until later.
Nebraska comes into the bowl game after winning against Iowa and that came after two losses against Minnesota and Wisconsin. The team lost all three matchups against ranked teams this season and now they have another one with USC and they come in ranked 13th in scoring with 37 points per game.
