The Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos are playing live on the Week 17 NFL schedule on Sunday and the matchup from Sports Authority Field at Mile High is on CBS starting up at 4:25 pm ET as Peyton Manning tries to lock up a top seed in the AFC and he comes in looking to finish the season strong after a couple down games.
The Broncos lost last week against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night football and now they have the chance to finish the season on a high note. The Patriots have the top seed and that means the postseason in the AFC goes through New England and that could make things very tough for the Broncos. The team lost there on the road already and now they come in at fourth in the league in passing yards per game and they have won four of the past five games, last losing to the Bengals.
The Bengals took down the Broncos in a tough game and now Denver has the chance to get things going heading into the postseason. The Broncos had another strong season from Manning with well over 4000 yards and Demaryius Thomas finished the season with 1504 yards and the team looks ready to make another postseason run. The team made it to the Super Bowl last season and they lost to the Seahawks and now they are looking to get back with Manning at helm.
The Raiders come in after a win against the Bills and they are 3-12 on the season and last in the AFC West and they are in line for one of the top picks in the draft once again this season. The Raiders are an easy opponent and they already were blown out once by the Broncos this season. The Broncos are considered to be one of the best in the league and they look better than last season, as their defense has played much better.
The Broncos have a rushing game with CJ Anderson coming in for Ronnie Hillman and Montee Ball and now Manning is trying to win the Super Bowl as the oldest QB to do it. Manning has had another great season and despite having their winning streak snapped, the Broncos are confident heading into the playoffs again. Denver would get the number two seed with a Bengals loss, but they lock it in with a win.
