The Seattle Seahawks finished with the best record in the NFC along with the Packers at 12-4 and they have the top seed and a bye in the first round. Seattle will have home field advantage and they are the number one seed, while the Green Bay Packers are the number two seed after winning against the Detroit Lions for the NFC North title. The Cowboys and Lions will now play in Dallas in the first round of the playoffs.
The Arizona Cardinals won 11 games and ended up in the fifth seed, while Detroit also won 11 games and is in the sixth seed. The Cardinals will have to travel to play the Carolina Panthers despite the team having a losing record, while the Lions are in the sixth seed and will be in Dallas to play the Cowboys. The Seahawks and the New England Patriots have the top spots in the NFC and AFC, while the Broncos are second behind New England.
The Patriots clinched the top spot last week and Denver put themselves in position for a first round bye with their win over the Raiders. The Bengals and Steelers played for the AFC North title while the Colts have the AFC South division. The Ravens clinched a playoff spot with a win against the Browns and help from the Chiefs and now Joe Flacco will be in for a chance to win another Super Bowl. Manning is looking to be the oldest Super Bowl winner ever, while Tom Brady is trying to win his elusive fourth title.
