The Rose Bowl 2015 game between the Florida State Seminoles and Oregon Ducks is on Thursday at 5 pm ET for the College Football Playoff Semifinals and this matchup comes ahead of Alabama and Ohio State playing and FSU comes in with Jameis Winston leading the way, while the Ducks have Heisman winner Marcus Mariota is starting.
The Seminoles come in with a huge undefeated streak on the line and this could be the toughest opponent for the team in multiple years. Oregon surely has the best offense they have faced and now they have to find a way to breakthrough. The Seminoles come into the game after another close game with Georgia Tech and that put the team into the playoff with an undefeated record.
Florida State is undefeated and the national champs, but many think they have not been good enough to be in this position had they not done those two things. Winston and the Seminoles should be here since they are undefeated and now they are putting that to the test against Oregon. The Ducks have one of the best offense in the nation, while FSU is allowing 23 points per game this season.
Florida State has dealt with tons of bad press due to the sexual assault allegations regarding Winston and they come in after winning 13 straight games this season. The team has not been as dominant as last season and there is a good chance their luck will run out against Oregon. The team has not won by more than five points since back in November and most of their games were close matchups this season.
The Seminoles come in after a two point win against GT and they also played to the end with Notre Dame, who lost on a very tough call at the end of the game. The matchup with Clemson was the game when Winston had to sit out for yet another issue of the field and now heading into the NFL many teams will be weary of what could happen with him. The team had another close game with Miami as well as Boston College and they only beat unranked Florida by five points.
Winston has gone 27-0 for the Seminoles in the game he has played and now he matches up with Mariota, who won the Heisman the year after he did. Mariota had a very impressive season and Oregon comes in scoring over 45 points per game and they have been putting that up during their eight game winning streak. The team only lost to Arizona this season and they got revenge against the Wildcats in the Pac-12 championship game.
Oregon and Florida State come in looking to win the semis to see who faces Ohio State or Alabama and those teams will be playing in the Sugar Bowl on Thursday night. Alabama comes in as the number one team in the nation and they are favored to win over OSU in the nightly matchup. The team won all its matchups against ranked teams this season and now the Ducks are trying to finish it out against Florida State.
