Chelsea fell to Tottenham on New Years Day at White Hart Lane in a 5-3 match that was thrilling on both sides and now the Blues are tied with Manchester City on top of the English Premier League table heading into the first month of the 2015 schedule and the Spurs are now within reach of the top four.
Chelsea rebounded with an FA Cup win after the match against the Spurs, but now they are tied atop the English Premier League table with Manchester City. Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and John Terry scored for the Blues, but it wasn't enough despite going up 1-0 in the game to start and things ended with a wild second half of scoring.
The Blues went through the first part of the season without losing at all and now they have only won in four of the past eight matches. The team lost to the Spurs and now Tottenham is unbeaten in the last six and while Chelsea still has a major lead over Man United in third, they have a battle with Man City at the top of the EPL table moving forward.
Chelsea has played well this season, but they did have an eight point advantage over Man City back in November and they need to get things going. Man City has been hot just as they have slowed down and now 2015 looks to be a battle between these teams.
