The Women's Beach Volleyball Quarterfinals are taking off on Sunday with China's Chen Xue and Xi Zhang versus Austria's Stefanie Schwaiger and Doris Schwaiger.
China vs. Austria
Sunday August 5th, 1 p.m. ET/6 p.m. GMT
China came in second place in Pool Bbehind Russia's team. They both finished with five points, two wins and one loss. During the qualifiers China defeated Switzerland's team and Greece, while losing to Russia in the first matchup of the Olympics.
Austria finished in third place in Pool C behind U.S.A and the Czech Republic (Kolocova/Slukova). They tallied four points in their three matches after losing two and winning one match. They lost against both the U.S. and the Czechs . They managed to get the only victory against Australia.
USA (Walsh/May-Treanor) vs. Italy
Sunday August 5th, 2 p.m. ET/7 p.m. GMT.
Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor went undefeated went through the priliminaries undefeated. They won their three matches against Australia, Czech Republic's Kolocova/Slukova and Austria.
Italy's Marta Menegatti and Gretta Cicolari were undefeated in Pool F as they defeated Russia's Ukolova/Khomyakova, Great Britain and Canada, collecting six points.
USA (Kessy/Ross) vs. Czech Republic (Kolocova/Slukova)
Sunday August 5th, 5 p.m. ET/10 p.m. GMT
Sluvoka and Kolocova of the Czech Republic finished right behind May-Treanor/Walsh Jennings in Pool C with five points, two wins and one loss. Americans April Ross and Jennifer Kessy went undefeated in Pool D defeating Spain, Netherlands and Argentina.
Brazil vs. Germany
Sunday August 5th, 6 p.m. ET/11 p.m. GMT
Juliana Silva and Larissa Franca of Brazil also finished undefeated in Pool A. They will face Germany's Goller/Ludwig combination, who only lost one game in their qualifiers.
