The Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets are playing live on the NBA schedule on Wednesday night and the matchup from the Barclays Center starts at 7:30 pm ET as the Atlantic division rivals meet and this will have D-Will, Kevin Garnett and Joe Johnson looking to bounce back after a loss against the Mavs in overtime on Monday.
The Nets come into the game after a loss against the Mavs and that was an overtime game and now they matchup with the Celtics and the Sixers next. This is a good chance for a couple wins and the Nets could use it, as they are in the middle of the pack at 16-18 on the season. The team is looking to play with more consistency and they come in against a Celtics team that is 11-21 on the season and they are without Rajon Rondo after his trade to Dallas.
The Nets are ranked 24th in the league in scoring, but they are in the top 10 in scoring defense and they need to continue playing well on that end of the floor. The team got 22 points and 13 rebounds from Brook Lopez and 10 assists from Jarrett Jack against the Mavs and so far the new lineup from Lionel Hollins has been working out. Johnson is leading the team in scoring overall, while the Celtics have Jeff Green leading the way and he has been playing some of his best career ball this season.
The Celtics are in a tough spot and have lost seven of the past nine games since trading away Rondo and while that is good for the lottery, the team is 0-4 on the road since that as well. James Young came in and stepped up for the Celtics after coming back from an injury and he is one of the players to watch now that Rondo is gone. The team also has Marcus Smart along with Young and Danny Ainge thinks those two can be building blocks for the franchise.
The Celtics come into the game after a loss to the Hornets and they will next play against the Pacers on the schedule. The team got 22 points and eight rebounds from Jared Sullinger and he has played well over the last stretch despite the losses. The Celtics have looked good on offense, as they are eighth in the league with 103 points per game, but they are 26th in scoring defense. The team is 12th in rebounding and second in assists per game this year.
