Usain Bolt has already conquered the athletics world and confirmed his legendary status with gold in the 100 meters at the London Olympics on Sunday. Now the sprint king wants to have a go in a completely different sport - soccer.
Bolt, a Manchester United fan, wants Sir Alex Ferguson to give him a trial at the club and believes he could be a huge asset to the Red Devils.
"People think I am joking. But if Alex Ferguson called me up and said, 'OK let's do this, come and have a trial', it would be impossible for me to say no," the 25-year is quoted as saying by The Sun.
"I would not take up the challenge if I didn't think I was good enough. I am a very accomplished player and know I could make a difference.
"I would be the fastest player in the team -- but I can play as well.
"I am in Britain for a few more days. If Alex Ferguson wants to give me a call he knows where I am."
Bolt has been to Old Trafford before, and even helped Cristiano Ronaldo work on his sprinting during the Real Madrid forward's United days. He also shares a good rapport with Ferguson.
"I definitely want to see what I could do. I think I could step up to the Rooneys," Bolt had also said recently.
The Jamaican, who won the 100 meters in an Olympic record time of 9.63 seconds against the competitive field ever assembled, will now concentrate on the 200 meters, with compatriot Yohan Blake again expected to be his biggest competition.
