For the U.S., they have done an excellent job defending their title. They went 5-0 in their qualifying games, which was expected of the team.

In their five matchups they beat Croatia 81-56. They destroyed Angola 90-38. Turkey fell 89-58. The Czech Republic was also beaten badly, 88-61. Their last match came against China, which the U.S. took 114-66, as they scored triple digits for the first time all tournament.

Don't worry. We'll do the math for you. USA beat their opponents by an average margin of 36.6 points a game.

Their opponent, Canada, did not have such a solid experience in the qualifers. They went 2-3 good for the last qualifying spot in the Pool B standings.

They lost to Russia in the first game of the Olympics 58-53. They lost to France 64-60 and Canada wrapped up their first round of action with a loss against Australia.

To their defense, they lost by singled digits. This means their team is always within striking distance. So the US Women's team and four-time defending gold medalists will have to stay focused.
