Latvia and Brazil will meet in the Men's Beach Volleyball Semifinals of the 2012 London Olympics.
The action sets off at 12 p.m. ET/5 p.m. GMT with Brazil's Men's duo of Alison Cerutti and Emanuel Rego versus Latvia's Martins Plavins and Janis Smedins on Tuesday. Both men are coming off of impressive wins that pushed them to the limit in Monday's quarterfinal's matchup
Rego and Cerutti are two players who are expected to take home a medal. Now that Latvia has advanced into the semis, they have increased their change of taking a medal home for this event.
Latvia's duo is coming off of a huge win against USA's Jacob Gibb and Sean Rosenthal on Monday. They defeated the favorite to win Bronze, according to Sports Illustrated, in the Men's Beach Volleyball event.
It took three sets to accomplish this feat as Plavins and Smedins fell behind a set after the Americans captured it 21-19. Latvia's duo the put away the match after taking the second set 21-18 and the third set 15-11.
For the Brazilians, it was a bit different, but they still had to fight their way into the semis. They went up a set against Poland's Mariusz Prudel and Grzegorz Fijalek 21-17. Then lost the second set 21-16. They needed a few extra games to decide the victory as Cerutti and Rego took the third set 17-15.
