Turkey and Russia will take the court for the Women's Basketball Quarterfinals in the 2012 London Olympics. They will meet up at 3 p.m. ET/8 p.m. GMT.
Turkey comes into the quarterfinal with a 4-1 record and nine points in Group A standings. They finished right behind the first place Team USA.
They started the OIympics with two consecutive wins over Angola and the Czech Republic. They beat Angola 72-50 and barely beat the Czechs 61-57.
As expected, they lost 89-58 to the United States, smudging their perfect record. They then defeated China 82-55 and barely survived their game against Croatia with a 70-65 victory.
Russia started their 2012 Olympic journey on fire winning three consecutive games. They defeated Canada 58-53, Brazil 69-59 and Great Britain 67-61.
As of late, they have been on a skid. They were defeated by Australia 70-66 and then lost to the French 65-54.
Both clubs will meet to decide who will play in the semis. The winner of this game will face either France of the Czech Republic. That match is set to begin right after the Turkey vs. Russia game.
