The Boston Celtics and LA Clippers are playing live on the NBA schedule on Martin Luther King Day and the afternoon matchup starts at 3:30 pm ET from the STAPLES Center has Chris Paul, Marcus Smart, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan taking the court in Los Angeles.
The Clippers come into the game after a win against the Kings and they will play against the Brooklyn Nets on the schedule. The team is second behind the Golden State Warriors in the Pacific division standings and they are 27-14 on the season. The Clippers come in averaging 106 points per game and they are fifth in assists per game and the team is also 18th in scoring defense this season.
Griffin comes into the game after scoring 30 points in the win against the Kings, while Chris Paul had nine assists in the matchup. The Celtics come into the game after a loss against the Bulls and they will next matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday. The Celtics come in ranked 11th in the league in scoring and they are 13-25 on the season and third in the Atlantic division.
The Celtics are third in assists this season, but they are ranked 27th in scoring on points allowed. Jared Sullinger comes in after scoring 20 points against the Bulls and Kelly Olynyk comes in after grabbing nine rebounds, while Evan Turner had eight assists. Jeff Green and Rajon Rondo were leading the team in scoring and assists, but now both of those players are on different teams. Paul comes in while having another strong season and he is fourth in the league in assists per game and has been strong while working the offense.
