Katie Taylor of Ireland and Sofya Ochigava of Russia advanced to the Women's Lightweight finals on Wednesday after clear victories against their opponents.
Taylor won 17-9 as she came into the tournament ranked No. 1 in the world in the weight division. She is ranked No. 1 for a reason as she packs powerful and compact punches.
The crowd was so riled up to see the Irish boxer that "Ole" cheers rang through the arena making it seem more like a soccer match.
Her biggest round came in the third as she landed multiple three-hit combos on her oppnent Mavzuna Chorieva from Tajikistan. Had she landed her left hooks that missed Chorieva's face, a knockout would have been witnessed.
After the match was over, the MC's of the night said Taylor is the only female boxer they know that hits like a man.
In the second bout of the Women's lightweight (60 KG), Ochigava faced Brazil's Adriana Araujo. Ochigava took the bout after a 17-11 score.
By the looks of it, rankings directly reflect a boxer's performance, in other sports, not so much.
She tied the first round with Araujo 3-3, then took the second and third rounds 5-3 and finished with a 4-2 score in the fourth round.
