The San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets are playing live on the NBA schedule on Wednesday night and the matchup from the Pepsi Center starts at 9 pm ET as Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili battle in a western conference game with Wilson Chandler and Kenneth Faried in Colorado.
The Spurs once again are one of the best teams in the west, but they have been off to a slow-ish start and are fourth in the stacked southwest division. The team is likely to pull things together, as they are 26-16 and firmly in place as a playoff team for now. The Spurs come in after a win against the Utah Jazz and they will next travel to play the Chicago Bulls on the road.
The Spurs have been one of the most consistent teams in the league this season and they are going up against an 18-23 team in the Nuggets. The Spurs are ranked 11th in the league in scoring overall and seventh in points allowed and they have continued to be excellent on defense. The team is ranked 10th in the league in rebounding and sixth in assists per game. The Spurs have a tough division, but they are considered to be one of favorites after winning the tire last year.
The Denver Nuggets come into the game after a loss against the Warriors and that was a tough one, as they fell 122-79. The team lost on the road and that was the 16th straight home win for Golden State and saw Ty Lawson lead the Nuggets with 19 points and six assists, while Faried had nine rebounds. The team comes in with the Celtics next on the schedule and while they are 13th in scoring and third in rebounds per game, the team is just 27th in points allowed this season.
