The 2012 NFL Preseason starts on Thursday. Here at Sportsworldreport.com we have the full schedule for of teams in action as they get to play a few games in front of fans before the season officially begins. The Washington Redskins will face the Buffalo Bills in the first preseason game of the year.
Redskins vs. Bills- 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT
The Redskins entered training camp with one of the most exciting rosters in the NFL. Well, at least with one of the talented quarterbacks from the draft. Robert Griffin III is expected to be the missing part the Redskins needed last season as they finished 5-11. RGIII has a lot of pressure on him as he is expected to be great as soon as he steps on to the field. It should be a pleasure watching this young man develop and mature before our eyes.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Atlanta Falcons 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 CT
The Baltimore Ravens are probably tired of hearing about being one catch away from the Super Bowl, but it cannot be stated enough times because to make matters worse, their kicker missed a field goal that would have at least tied it, but instead they watched the New England Patriots go to Super Bowl and face the New York Giants.
Speaking of the New York Giants, the Atlanta Falcons were the first team sacrificed in their run to become Super Bowl Champions. They massacred the Falcons in the Wild Card game 24-2.
Teams better fear the birds as both teams look to have 2012 campaigns with better endings.
New Orleans Saints vs. New England Patriots 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 CT
For many, this was the expected Super Bowl matchup of 2011. Drew Brees was fresh off of a record-breaking campaign and the Saints looked unstoppable, but the San Francisco 49ers put an end to these dreams as they eliminated New Orleans in the NFC Division round.
It will also be interesting to follow the Saints this year as their team and organization has been flipped upside down.
For the New England Patriots it will be another season expecting to make the playoffs. They are not the same team that was a dynasty in the early 2000's, but with Tom Brady as their leader they can play against anybody, except for the Giants apparently.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Philadelphia Eagles 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 CT
The Pittsburgh Steelers are still having nightmares after, out of all quarterbacks, Tim Tebow threw them out of the playoffs. Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers have overcome bigger circumstances in the past. They have a new offensive coordinator in former Kansas City Chiefs head coach, Todd Haley.
The Philadelphia Eagles rank second in offseason press coverage only to the New York Jets. Michael Vick is always getting quoted after sharing thoughts on what he expects from the Eagles this upcoming season. Many people question why Andy Reid is still coaching the team. Talks of their disappointing 2011 season have yet to stop circulating. It will be interesting to see what the Eagles can do on the field as they still have a dangerous offensive team.
Green Bay Packers vs San Diego Chargers 8 p.m. ET/5 CT
Separate story written on Packers vs. Chargers as they will be airing on ESPN.
Denver Broncos vs. Chicago Bears 8:30 p.m. ET/ 5:30 CT
This will be the first chance for fans to see Peyton Manning in action for the first time in a Broncos jersey. Denver is now favored to win the AFC West. Give Manning a group of young receivers, the Broncos have good ones, and an 8-8 season looks impossible to reoccur. Manning could do the one thing many predicting Tim Tebow could not do in the Pro Football level, throw a football and read coverage.
The Chicago Bears have a new face and target in Brandon Marshall. Jay Cutler was having a decent season before going down with a thumb injury. With a healthy Cutler and Marshall, look for the Bears to have some hope of a capturing a Wild Card spot. We all know the Packers are still too good.
