It is not surprising that Japan and the U.S. are in the finals of Women's Soccer at the 2012 London Olympics. They have dominated international competition in the last couple of years.
The U.S. won the 2008 gold medal and in 2011 Japan stole the championship in the World Cup that many thought belonged to the United States.
This could be a chance for Hope Solo and the rest of the U.S. Team to avenge the 2011 loss or it can be a chance for the Japanese team to cement themselves as the best team in the world once again.
The action kicks off tomorrow at 2:45 p.m. ET/7:45 p.m. GMT.
In their semifinals match, Team USA got past Canada in extra time. If Japan stole the World Cup in 2011, then the U.S. performed one of the biggest heists in soccer as Alex Morgan scored in the three extra minutes given after regulation to beat Canada 4-3.
It automatically becomes an iconic moment in U.S. Women's Soccer history.
There was no drama in Japan's semifinal victory over France. They scored two goals in the 32nd minute and 39th minute, then played good defense keeping France off the board until the 76th minute of the game.
Japan's defense has been suffocating. They have only allowed two goals in the five matches they have played. Team USA has allowed five.
