The San Diego Chargers beat last season's team with the best record in the NFl, the Green Bay Packers 21-13 in both teams' first preseason games of the 2012-2013 season.
The Packers and Chargers looked like they were playing in a game of importance, but it was just preseason. Green Bay fans packed the house as cheers could be heard all around the stadium.
The score was 13-14 in favor of the Chargers in the last 2 minutes of the game. They put the game away with a 1-yard touchdown run by Curtis Binkley, giving them the 21-13 advantage.
The Packers are lucky this is just preseason as they played a pretty sloppy game. They had three fumbles in the matchup, one by Aaron Rodgers, wide receiver Diondre Borel lost one and Shaky Smithson, who should probably never get touches with that name, fubled one but recovered.
Rodgers took a few snaps going 2/8 with 16 yards and an interception. Graham Harrell had a solid game as the Breen Bay quarterback, which is good news for the Packers as they lost Matt Flynn in the offseason.
Flynn went 15/27 with 135 yards and a touchdown pass.
Running back M. Tyler finished with 13 carries and 32 yards with a touchdown.
For the Chargers, they had an amazing performance from their quarterbac, not Philip Rivers, but backup J. Lee. He went 15/22 with 235 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
Brinkley, who scored the defining TD in the game finished with 42 yards on 11 carries. He had a touchdown and his longest run was of 12 yards.
For their next preseason match, the Green Bay Packers will face the Cleveland Browns in Lambeau Field on August 16th.
