The NFL Draft Order for 2015 is now set after the Super Bowl with the Patriots getting the final pick over the Seattle Seahawks and now the first round has the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the clock and many think that the team is looking at either Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston at No. 1 and that the team will keep the pick over making a trade.
The Seattle Seahawks now are slotted in at pick 31 in the first round, while the Patriots have the final pick of the round after winning the Super Bowl. The top five picks of the draft have the Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins. The first two teams are almost guaranteed to pick the quarterbacks if they remain in those spots, while the Jags and Raiders appear set at the position.
The Redskins may have thought about trading up for a QB, but their new general manager has said that the team will be sticking with Robert Griffin for the time being, as he needs more time to develop. The Redskins pick at five followed by the Jets and the Bears. The Jags and Raiders have the same record, as do the Bucs and Titans and those picks were determined on strength of schedule. The same went for NY and Chicago, while the Falcons, Giants and Rams are all 6-10 and will make picks 8 through 10.
The next batch of teams has the Minnesota Vikings picking at 11, while the Browns and Saints will follow. The middle of the round has the Miami Dolphins and 49ers, while the Texans, Chargers, Chiefs and Bills are next and they all had 9-7 records. The Eagles are next ahead of the Bengals, while the Steelers, Lions and Cardinals pick ahead of the Panthers after the way the playoffs went.
The Ravens pick after that and then the Cowboys and Broncos go for picks 27 and 28. The final round of picks goes with the Colts, Packers, Seahawks and then the Patriots after winning Super Bowl XLIX.
The draft is at the end of April, which is another dumb decision by the NFL, as these players lose precious time preparing for the season and they get picked apart by draft experts all in the hopes of the NFL "owning the spring" too. The league likely will keep doing this, but it's misguided and not good for the rookie players.
The Buccaneers are on the clock and they come in likely to take a QB after the way they played last season. The team finished 2-14 and both Mike Glennon and Josh McCown struggled for Lovie Smith and now they are likely to pick Winston or Mariota, who everyone sees as the top two QBs in the draft.
