Wisconsin is currently sitting comfortably on top of the Big Ten as they reach the second half of conference play. The No. 5 Badgers are aiming to repeat their Final Four appearance of last year as they sit a game and a half above the Indiana Hoosiers for the top spot. The Hoosiers were predicted to make a fun in the conference, but road losses have killed the team as they sit 2-3 away from home this year. Now they will travel on the road once again to face the Badgers on Tuesday night.
Wisconsin is aiming to extend their win streak to five with Indiana coming to town. The Badgers are fresh off a win over Iowa where Frank Kaminsky led the team with 24 points while Nigel Hayes, Josh Gasser and Sam Dekker all got into double digits as well. Kaminsky continues to thrive recently. He is fourth in the conference with 17.6 points per game and he has at least 21 points in four of the team's last five games. Meanwhile the team's defense continues to be one of the better units, limiting opponents to just 55.5 points per game along with forcing 7.7 turnovers as well.
Indiana has looked like a leading team when playing at home, but on the road they simply cannot figure it out. They are leading the conference with 80.3 points per game, but have only put up 71.4 in conference play. In their last three of four road games, their numbers drop to 66.8 points per game. They have lost each of those games by at least 16.0 points.
The Hoosiers were sitting ranked up until this past week when losses caused them to drop out of the Top 25. Indiana fell to the Purdue before barely beating Rutgers 72-64. Troy Williams carried the weight with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The Hoosiers do enjoy playing ranked teams which could help them against Wisconsin. They are 4-1 against ranked opponents this season, but they were all either at home or at a neutral site.
