Metta World Peace will play a vampire in the pilot for "Real Vampire Housewives," according to a press release cited by Deadspin.
The show follows a group of mischievous women who are married to vampires. The housewives find plenty of trouble to occupy themselves during the day while their husbands rest until the night.
For the pilot episode, a recently engaged couple must seek permission from the clan's elder to wed.
World Peace plays the elder Gossamer, "a gregarious and overtly sexual vampire elder."
Robert Parada, the show's producer had this to say about World Peace:
"Metta is charismatic, very funny, one of a kind on and off the court and throws himself into everything he does. All of these are traits you'd expect from one of these mythical creatures."
Writer/Director Andre Jetmir added:
"Metta is perfect as a vampire; he is physically intimidating in an Alpha-male way, very charming, a little mischievous and he has a raw sexuality I think most actors try to find when they play a vampire."
This isn't World Peace's first acting gig as he played detective Garlin Fincher in a TV movie titled "The Eleventh Victim," which is supposed to be released this year.
RVH, as the release encourages us to refer to the show, shoots in September on location in Encino, California. No network is mentioned in the release, which means the show is still looking for one to pick it up.
