The Miami Heat may look at a Goran Dragic trade at the deadline this season, while players like Reggie Jackson, Brook Lopez, Taj Gibson, Lance Stephenson and Wilson Chandler also could be targets and this comes as the team could consider trading Mario Chalmers if they pull off a trade for one of the guards over the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls.
Dragic is the top option for Miami and reports have the team considering trading two first round picks to get him. Yahoo Sports reports that a deal is not close right now and that Dragic has been getting attention from the Lakers, Kings and Pacers. The point guard gave the Suns a list of teams that he wants to be traded to and that includes the Knicks, Lakers and Miami Heat.
Miami comes in looking to make moves, as they are battling for a playoff spot in the east. The team could look to shore up the front court with Gibson, while Dragic is a top option as well. Dragic is expected to get a max contract on the market this summer.
The Houston Rockets did not make the splash they wanted by getting Rajon Rondo and they could look at a deal with Dragic as an option. The team has Dragic in the past and now could look to target him in free agency this summer and this comes after Rajon Rondo, Goran Dragic and Kevin Love were moved, with the Rockets missing out on both of those deals. Daryl Morey has long wanted to make a Big 3 of his own with Dwight Howard and James Harden and after missing out on Carmelo and Chris Bosh, a big move could be coming in the summer.
According to ESPN.com reporter Marc Stein, the Rockets have been looking into making a number of moves, targeting Dragic if the Suns don't sign him. Stein writes that Morey wanted to add another big name star to his team this summer and now that it didn't work out, he is looking at other options. Carmelo opted to sign back with the Knicks despite a strong push from the Rockets, while Chris Bosh went back to Miami after it looked like he would be signed.
Rondo has long been a player Morey likes and he nearly had a deal for him last season but the Celtics wanted Chandler Parsons in that deal. The team could look at him if he hits free agency this summer. At the time the Rockets did not want to move Parsons, but looking back Morey likely should have pulled the trigger with him and Omer Asik to get a deal done. Parsons is now with the Mavericks and while the Rockets did not want to pay him what the Mavs did, they now are likely worse off than they were last season. Signing Trevor Ariza was a big help, but he is not the offensive threat that Parsons is and now the team will have to rely even more on James Harden.
