The Brooklyn Nets and LA Lakers are playing live on the NBA schedule on Friday and the game is on at 10:30 pm ET and has the teams picking things up after the All-Star break in Los Angeles as the team hosts at the STAPLES Center as Nick Young and Joe Johnson matchup.
The Lakers come into the game after a loss against the Portland Trail Blazers before the break and now they come in against the Nets before hosting the Celtics. The Lakers have won 13 games this season and they matchup with a 21 win Nets team and with Kobe Bryant out, the team will be looking to get into the lottery. The Lakers first round pick is protected in the top five this season, but past that it will now go to the Sixers after being with the Suns.
The Lakers come in ranked 20th in scoring and 30th in points allowed per game this season. The Nets come into the game after a loss to the Grizzlies and that came before the break and now they matchup with the Lakers before a trip to face the Nuggets. The team is ranked 26th in points per game and they made one big move at the deadline, second Kevin Garnett back home to Minnesota. The team nearly traded for Reggie Jackson with Brook Lopez in a deal, but they did not get that done.
The Nets are building around Mason Plumlee and they are likely to trade some more players in the offseason and now they have Thaddeus Young after making a move at the deadline with Garnett. The Nets had high hopes last year and now they are starting to build for the future and they now matchup with another team doing that in the Lakers. The Nets have had an up and down season and they are right in the mix for the bottom of the east playoffs picture.
