Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Dez Bryant Video Worries Team, NFL Releases Wal-Mart Incident With Woman Dragged From Car

Feb 26, 2015 10:35 AM EST

The Dallas Cowboys are trying to sign Dez Bryant to a new contract and things have been held up likely due to rumors about a video showing a "Ray Rice-like" incident and now the NFL has released another bit of information, an incident report from a 2011 event at a Wal-Mart that may involve Bryant and a woman, who was seen being dragged from a vehicle.

According to NFL.com and Pro Football Talk, it doesn't say that Bryant was the man dragging the woman, but the police report describes a woman being dragged from one vehicle to another vehicle by a black male, who was later said to be someone named Alex Person. The report says that the woman was dragged from a Mercedes that was registered to Bryant and that after a police offer responded, the car was there with the door open and empty.

There was no present at that time and later two men pulled up in another car, an Escalade registered to Bryant and said they were picking up the car, saying the woman told them to get "her" Mercedes. The woman later showed up with Bryant in a Bentley at the parking lot, with the victim saying that she was dropped off somewhere at a friends and called Bryant to pick her up. The woman, according to Pro Football Talk, told police she was not assaulted in any way, which they described as "curious". The report said the woman was being dragged across the pavement in the parking lot.

The report says nothing about the video and there is a chance that this is not the same video that has been speculated about in the media. Adam Schefter and Mike Florio have confirmed the video, with Adam Schefter saying he knows what's on it and that he has been working on a story since September. Bryant, Carl King, Christopher Mitchell and Alex Penson are names all mentioned in the report and now likely will be tracked down about what happened.

There could be video, as Wal-Mart usually has lots of surveillance on their properties. The report does not say whether Bryant was actually the man dragging the woman, but all this is not adding up to anything good. Bryant is coming off of a monster season and things have been held up a bit with contract talks and now this could be why.

Bryant went to social media and vaguely referenced the rumors, calling it "BS" and saying that he used to let people take advantage of him. Bryant has had numerous off the field issues and the Cowboys wanted to reel him in a bit, which has happened over the pasty couple years, but now it all could be blown up. Bryant is coming off of a season with 16 touchdown catches, 88 receptions and 1320 yards and he has had at least 12 12 TDs, 88 catches and 1200 yards in each of the last three seasons.

The team was expected to use the franchise tag on Bryant no matter what and now that looks like a foregone conclusion. Bryant is looking to get paid big money and all the speculation will only hurt that until the news is confirmed or the video is released.
