Los Angeles Lakers new All-Star center Dwight Howard has a new team in L.A. and now has a new place to live as well.
Howard spent $20 million on a mansion in Newport Beach, the same city that Lakers star Kobe Bryant calls home. Slam Magazine first reported the purchase and hinted the likelihood of Howard's future with L.A.:
"Dwight Howard just dropped $20 million for a home in Newport Beach, where Kobe Bryant also lives. Doesn't look like Superman is going anywhere, any time soon."
The news of Howard purchasing a home in Los Angeles may indicate his intentions of staying long-term with the team. Even though his income is much higher than that of the the average Americans, no one would buy a new house with the idea of moving out in a year.
Howard will be making $19,536,360 next season so his home will not be totally covered with his salary. However, Howard has amassed millions of dollars thanks to his salary from the Orlando Magic and his various sponsorships.
$20 million is a lot of money to be spending on a home, so it would be hard seeing Howard leave L.A. after making such a massive expensive purchase.
