Detroit Lions Rumors: Ndamukong Suh Target For Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, Seahawks Over Return?

Detroit Lions star Ndamukong Suh is heading towards free agency and he could be a target for the Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Seattle Seahawks or New York Giants and washington Redskins as a free agent, as he is the top player at his position and could command a massive contract and this comes as the Lions may also lose Nick Fairley.

Suh is considered by many to be the top player in free agency this year and he is coming off of another strong season with the Lions. Adam Schefter at ESPN.com reports that Suh could command a $100 million contract with $50 million guaranteed and there is a chance he could get even more from another bidder. According to the New York Daily News, the Giants may "make a run" at Suh in free agency, while the Redskins and the Seahawks have also been mentioned as potential landing spots.

The Lions are going to try and keep Suh, as general manager Martin Mayhew said that the team is "optimistic" that a deal will get done. Suh wants the most money possible, as the Detroit Free Press reports that he wants to be the highest paid player among defensive players. Suh is looking to beat JJ Watt's contract with the Texans and that could mean only certain teams are in the mix. The Browns, Jets, Raiders and Jaguars all have a ton of cap space, while the Redskins are a team that's not afraid to pay.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Dolphins could "emerge" as a player for Suh, as the team has pressure to improve and they have cleared some cap space by letting go of Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson. The team has been to the playoffs once in the last 10 years and the Dolphins could be in the mix with teams like the Raiders, Browns and Jets. Addin Suh wouldn't make the Dolphins a playoff team, but their defense would automatically be improved and they could be a tough team to deal with in the AFC if that happens.

The Dolphins may also look at trading Mike Wallace this offseason and that could free up nearly $10 million in salary cap space heading into the season. According to NBC Washington, the Redskins could be an option for Suh, as they have $25 million in cap space and could make a big splash with a player like Suh. The Giants don't have as much cap space and have needs in other areas, so it's likely he won't end up in NY with Big Blue. The Seahawks are another possibility, as Suh reportedly wants to sign with the team and could be interested since he is originally from the Pacific Northwest.

Suh had another strong season in 2014, recording 8.5 sacks and 51 tackles and that came after he had 5.5 sacks in 2013. Suh is not a player that always can be judged on numbers, as he makes an impact by simply being on the field. The Lions had the top rush defense in the league last season and the team is hoping not to lose both Suh and Fairley in free agency.
