The Buffalo Bills have agreed to a trade for Eagles star LeSean McCoy, but according to reports the running back is not too happy with the deal and it's possible the Bills could make another trade with McCoy, as teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Oakland Raiders, Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns could be interested in acquiring him.
The Eagles will clear a nice amount of cap space in the deal and it comes after they reportedly wanted McCoy to take a pay cut for this year. According to Pro Football Talk, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports that McCoy is not happy about his trade and is "frustrated" by the move. His agent said on Twitter that a deal was not "finalized" yet, but it appears that the trade will happen. Adam Schefter reports that the deal is for Kiko Alonso and doesn't include other compensation at this time.
McCoy is one of the most productive backs in football and while the trade cannot be completed until next week, reports from Adam Schefter and other sources have it agreed on between the two sides. The Bills felt they were good enough to be a playoff team last year and adding a player like McCoy could put them over the top. But if McCoy is unhappy and doesn't want to report to Buffalo, another trade could be possible. Mike Rodak from ESPN speculated that the Dolphins, Cardinals, Colts, Cowboys and Raiders could be interested in a deal if the Bills entertain offers.
The deal for McCoy can't be finalized until next week, so that could give the Bills enough time to smooth things over, but he could feel the same way at that time. The Dolphins have Knowshon Moreno and Daniel Thomas hitting the free agent market and they were one of the worst teams in the league rushing the ball. Adding McCoy next to Lamar Miller could be big for Ryan Tannehill, while the Cowboys could look at their former division foe as a replacement for DeMarco Murray if Murray signs elsewhere in free agency.
The Bills have a defense that ranked near the top of the league last season and they felt comfortable trading away Alonso, as he did not play last season and they were still strong. Ryan now has a solid running back if the team keeps McCoy and he just added a new quarterback, as reports have Matt Cassel being acquired in a trade with the Vikings.
The Eagles cut DeSean Jackson last year and now they are moving on from another fan favorite in McCoy. Kelly has the power over the roster and he is using it and now the team could look at making more moves heading into the draft after the news about the McCoy deal filtered out on Tuesday night.
Alonso previously played for Chip Kelly at Oregon and he missed all of last season with an ACL injury. Alonso had 159 tackles in his rookie season and the Eagles need some help on defense after cutting both Cary Williams and Trent Cole, which was reported on Tuesday by ESPN. The move with Alonso will only add to the speculation that Kelly will consider moving up to get his old Oregon quarterback in Marcus Mariota. The Eagles have all seven of their draft picks and may use them to trade up.
