The Miami Dolphins might be making headlines with their wide receiver position drama, but the team is also in need of some run game fire power in 2015. The team signed Knowshon Moreno last season in hopes that he could repeat his career-high success he had with the Denver Broncos. Instead, Moreno suffered a season-ending injury that likely will end his essentially non-existent tenure with the Dolphins. Miami now has Lamar Miller to work with, but needs someone else in the mix.

According to ESPN.com, the Miami Dolphins do not intend on re-signing Moreno in 2015. The running back entered 2014 one a one-year contract and suffered an elbow injury and torn ACL while putting up just 148 yards on the field. ESPN writes that the Dolphins are looking for a power back that is much more durable than Moreno has proven to be which means he will be a free agent come Tuesday.

Miller is a strong back that has proven himself reliable in South Beach, but he simply cannot carry the load himself. The Dolphins need another top rusher to add to the mix and help Ryan Tannehill. ESPN's Josina Anderson reports the Dolphins are taking a lot of interest in CJ Spiller who hits the market on March 10. Spiller has already confirmed he will not be returning to the Buffalo Bills. The team traded for LeSean McCoy earlier in the week which means Spiller is out.

Spiller would be a solid compliment to the Bill Lazor offense in Miami. The running back is a big-time playmaker while averaging over 5.0 yards per carry during his five-year tenure with the Bills. He is quick while also being able to spread the field as a receiver. The issue with Spiller is durability. The running back is coming of his own season-ending injury which could hurt the attention on him. Spiller is also expected to command a large contract, part of the reason why Buffalo moved on from him.

The Dolphins have a lot of needs to figure out. The team is still toying with a trade or release of Mike Wallace. They need to re-sign Tannehill. They also need a linebacker and defensive tackle to anchor the offense. Paying Spiller big money might not be in the plans. However, players like Mark Ingram or Justin Forsett could be strong targets in the offseason.
