Aug 22, 2012 05:43 AM EDT

Do not miss the action as the event's host, Japan faces New Zealand in live action of the Women's World Cup 2012. Both teams are a part of Group A and both teams are 1-0.

Japan handed Mexico a can of goals in their first match, winning by a wide margin of four to one. Hanae Shibata, Hikaru Naomoto, Kumi Yokoyama and Yoko Tanaka each had a goal in the game, the last three scored in the second half of the game.

New Zealand did not dominate in their game, but nonetheless, they walked out victories after defeating Switzerland 2-1 in a tie game.

The loser of this match drops to a possible third place tie with Mexico as they earned a victory earlier in the day after beating the Swiss, who are eliminated from the action.
